The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The position was great and stunning, with bars and bistros nearby.- Restaurant Cafe de l'agriculture located 1 km away was a nice surprise.I had a lovely time at Grand Hotel De L'Abbaye in Beaugency. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the location was fantastic, with plenty of bars and bistros close by. We were pleasantly surprised by the nearby Restaurant Cafe de l'agriculture, which was only 1 km away.

L'Abbaye is a fantastic location. We stayed in the room called Frère Jacques, with a view on the bridge over the Loire river and the birds island. Very nice breakfast, if you are lucky with the weaher you can take it outside on the terras with that same lovely view.

Great Location and fantastic building
Too close to the road and therefore too noisi. Heating didn't work properly. Breakfast definitely not worth 16€/pp.

Breakfast was excellent, worth the extra cost
It was a sunny day in April but the room was too cold although we were supplied with an electric fire to supplement the central heating. Would be fine in the hot summer but I wouldn't recommend for winter. The bathroom and bedroom decor could do with an update - it is very tired.

The location was incredible and wonderful, right next to the town centre and restaurants at night. I enjoyed the room; it was a good size with 18 bedrooms, the abbey walls, and a very comfortable bed. - Actually, everything was great; I would choose this hotel again for my next stay in Beaugency.

Had central location in a beautifully maintained historical monument. Further, it was close enough to the river in the centre of town, nearby castles and medieval cities, and Beaugency. I had the twin room which was well-appointed and modern for his bed.
Some people working there were appalling.

The location is stunningly close to the city center. It is also conveniently near the beautiful Beaugency, an old castle, monastery, church, the keep.

I liked the atmosphere of this very old building.
The rooms were poorly designed (mainly because they had to work within the constraints of the monastic layout) and the lighting was poor which gave the sense that the rooms weren't particularly clean. We had been expecting more facilities (on-site restaurant, room service etc) and given these were non-existent, the price did not represent value for money.

This place has a lot of charm. Walking through the stone hallway and candlelit stairs--plenty of atmosphere. Bathrooms appeared to be recently remodeled and well maintained. Breakfast buffet offered wide variety and good quality.
Requests for twin beds were not followed up. Hotel corrected this for the 2nd night. Parking situation is not good--if you need to leave early, make sure not to park in lot that is locked and double-parked until after 8 am. Room safe did not work properly. The charm and atmosphere to some may seem too rustic and spooky to others.

The abbaye itself is beautiful and the ambience is very nice; it has an interesting history.
The staff is indifferent. The breakfast is overpriced, but it is very difficult to find anything else in the neighborhood.
